Morning People is turning 9 - and to celebrate we’re throwing a party in one of the most beautiful venues in the country.

Join us at the awe-inspiring St Matthew in the City for a SATURDAY morning celebration of epic proportions, soundtracked by none other than dance music legend Greg Churchill and Wattsson.

With its sky-high timber ceilings, gothic arches and stained-glass windows, this venue has to be seen to be believed.

DJ, producer and label-boss Greg Churchill is a true icon of the Aotearoa dance scene. With a career that stretches back to the Christchurch airwaves of the 80s, he’s played underground clubs to 8000-strong festival stages and everything in-between. Having played alongside legends like Carl Cox, Jeff Mills and John Digweed, and released UK chart-troubling bangers, Greg is a national treasure.

DJ and producer Wattsson brings a different kind of magic - a classical violinist turned deep techno explorer, her genre-blurring sets are a journey through pulsing basslines, chugging synths and melodic textures. Her musical pilgrimage has taken her from Ibiza to Mexico to London, and now she’s back home in Aotearoa.

To celebrate nine spins around the sun, we're doing things a little differently: a SATURDAY session at the slightly later (but just as sweaty) time of 7:00am – 9:00am.

As ever, your morning rave comes with free Altezano Brothers coffee, All Good bananas and drinks from Karma.

And as it’s our birthday, we’re dressing up, feel free to join us! Silk robes to sequins, vintage suits to party PJs – wear whatever says Happy Birthday Morning People to you.

This is one for the history books - our last birthday bash at St Matthews sold out, so don’t sleep on it!

Morning People ticket refund policy: Tickets are non-refundable, however, if an event is cancelled, or if an event is postponed and the new date doesn't suit you, you will be offered a full refund.

Please note, while we aim to keep ticket prices as low as possible, ticket prices for some events - including our birthday - are higher to help us meet the costs of partying in special places. Costs for our regular club-shows will remain the same.
