    Event description

Our next blitz is at Alan Foods in Jilliby which is a market garden run by Michael and Ally with the help of their baby daughter, Bonnie.

Their plan is to transform an area of unproductive land into a food forest by clearing grasses, mulching existing trees and planting new ones.

They need to introduce more support species into the system as well as a few more productive species, to further transform the land which was a dairy farm decades ago. If anyone has any of the following plants or cuttings that they would be willing to donate. They will need to fit one or more of these criteria

    1. Edible

    2. Produces biomass

    3. Fixes nitrogen/leguminous support species

Please bring a hat, gloves, sunscreen,  closed in sturdy shoes, water bottle, plate, cup and cutlery.

Tools useful on the day will be picks, shovels and sharp cutters and wheelbarrows if you can fit them in, because Michael will be loading them with the bobcat! Please label everything.

Pruning expertise will be highly valued on the day for the existing trees that are well in need of some care

If there’s time and enough hands, we can clear and plant out a watermelon patch.

A gluten free, vegan lunch and morning tea will be provided. Ifyou have any other dietary requirements please let me know asap at permablitz@permaculturecc.org.au.

You must be a member of PCC to attend this event. New members are more than welcome. Attending two of these events makes you eligible to have a PCC design implemented at your place.
