Alan McElroy - Ah Jaysus!

Alan McElroy grew up in a very religious Ireland in the 80’s and 90’s. It was everywhere like the Big J man himself! But instead of heavenly influences, Alan was heavily influenced by the holy trinity of TV, films and video games. In fact, he watched and played them all, religiously. It was more of 'What Would John McClane Do?' than ‘Love Thy Neighbour’ (he used to kiss the telly when Charlene Robinson was on screen).

Forget 'Christ Has Risen', when Sigourney Weaver was risen four feet above the bed while possessed in Ghostbusters, that was a surprise early entrance into adulthood for a young Alan McElroy.

When our biggest idols were wise cracking, hungover cops who save the day and get the girl, it was no wonder we got sucked in.

Ah, Jaysus! is a hilarious look at growing up during a crazy time in a mad country, and follows up last year’s sold out show Mad, Innit?!, a show in which Alan looked back on his life with undiagnosed ADHD as a child. Those stories continue with Ah, Jaysus!.
