Alana McVeigh Ceramic Workshop: Porcelain hand building techniques.
When: 10am-12pm, Sunday 31 May 2026,
Where: Geraldton Regional Art Gallery
In this workshop you will learn to shape and construct slab-built functional vessels. We will explore techniques including pattern, texture, carving and surface finish on your work. Once completed and dried each piece will be gloss glazed, fired and returned to the gallery to collect.

About Alana McVeigh
My arts practice is based in ceramics predominantly working with porcelain. Throughout my career I have presented workshops and papers at national and international conferences in Australia, Europe, and China.
My exhibitions include eight solo exhibitions at Stala Contemporary Art Gallery in Perth along with group exhibitions in Sydney, Brisbane and international exhibitions in Finland, China and Denmark. I completed my PhD at Curtin University in 2020 where I continue to work as a sessional academic. I also currently teaching ceramic wheel throwing classes at Central Regional TAFE, Geraldton.
