We are excited to welcome Colin Seis and Alejandro Carrillo for three workshops in South Australia, each tailored to the local conditions. Whether you’re in the Hills, the Mallee, or the Rangelands, you’ll learn how regenerative grazing can help restore pasture diversity and build resilience.

  • Colin Seis: A pioneer of regenerative agriculture, Colin developed the innovative practice of pasture cropping with Darryl Cluff, which integrates crops and grazing to improve soil health and biodiversity. Over the years, Colin has increased native grass species from 9 to 60, reduced annual weeds to less than 5%, and boosted soil carbon by over 200% on his NSW farm 'Winona'. Colin is well known around the world for his practices that can help reduce input costs and build ecosystem function.
  • Alejandro Carrillo: A fourth-generation rancher from Mexico, Alejandro has transformed his family’s Las Damas Ranch in the Chihuahuan Desert into a thriving example of regenerative grazing. By implementing holistic management and adaptive grazing, he has increased plant diversity, improved water infiltration, and created a resilient ecosystem in one of the world’s most challenging environments. His work demonstrates how even arid landscapes can support thriving livestock and biodiversity while reducing inputs and improving profitability.

These workshops will equip you with practical tools to:

  • Build diverse pastures with year-round species,
  • Revive water cycles, and
  • Create healthier soils for a resilient future.

Visit our demonstration sites (Hills and Mallee workshops) where we are using grazing and seeding practices to build species diversity and a mix of summer and winter active pasture species.

This workshop is part of the Pasture Diversity for Drought Defence Project.

This project is supported by Second Nature Conservancy, through funding from the Australian Government's Future Drought Fund.
