At the centre of the evening will be an intimate solo concert by Alessandro Santacaterina, one of the leading contemporary interpreters of the chitarra battente, the distinctive traditional guitar of Southern Italy.

Deeply connected to the musical heritage of Calabria, Santacaterina brings the ancient sound of the chitarra battente into the present, combining tradition, virtuosity and contemporary musical expression. His performance offers audiences the opportunity to experience an instrument that for centuries has accompanied songs, dances, serenades and celebrations throughout Southern Italy.

But this evening is about much more than a concert.

Guests will also enjoy a special set dinner prepared by the Nonne of the Calabria Club, whose cooking represents the flavours, recipes and hospitality passed from one generation to another.
