Event description

Together we sing. Together we rise.

Come celebrate the turning of the seasons with Alexa and The Folk — a sing-along soulfolk experience where you become part of the band.

The equinox reminds us of the delicate harmony between light and dark, while the new moon invites us to plant intentions in fertile soil. Together, these thresholds open a space for renewal, release, and shared creation.

Together, we’ll honor this seasonal shift with songs that you’ll learn in the moment — simple, soulful, and made for all voices. No prep needed, just your breath, your presence, and your willingness to sing.

Led by singer/songwriter and Cascadia Folk Choir director Alexa Lux with multi-instrumentalist Alex Milsted and a rotating cast of musician friends, Alexa and The Folk invites you into a night of music, movement, and collective belonging.

Held in the visionary art wonderland of The Haven — a creative hub in NE Portland filled with studios, galleries, and inspiration around every corner — this family-friendly gathering will nourish your spirit and ground you in community joy.

🌀 We are guided by two main principles: music as medicine, and music as birthright. Sharing a vision with Cascadia Folk Choir and the broader community song movement, we aim to bring music back to the people — as a practice of remembrance, belonging, and shared transformation.

Featuring Jacob Last on percussion and Reb Conner on guitar & vocals.
