Old St Paul’s is a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture, constructed entirely from native timbers and consecrated in 1866. Its soaring wooden arches, stained glass windows, and rich acoustics make it a sought-after venue for a variety of events. The church offers seating for up to 460 guests, with facilities including a grand piano, organ, and a bar licence. While on-site catering isn't available, nearby venues such as Loaves & Fishes Hall, the Royal Society of New Zealand, and the Thistle Inn provide excellent options for receptions and gatherings. Located at 34 Mulgrave Street in Thorndon, Old St Paul’s is easily accessible by public transport and offers a serene setting for weddings, concerts, memorials, and other significant events.
