Event description

Alice Night’s songs are balms. When in the presence of her craft, you can’t help but be mesmerised by her persona, simple yet effective guitar accompaniment and poignant turn of phrase. She exudes a confident and playful charisma on stage, cracking jokes and telling stories, yet always holding a strong undertone of realness, whether it be performing a song about the state of the world, personal challenges or heartbreak. She is a fierce independent artist, striving to make an impact with her art and connect to your heart, what she was born to do.

This November she’s touring the east coast to launch the first singles ‘Eventually’ and 'Peace Now' from her upcoming album ‘Wild Ivy.’

There is an aliveness to Alice's stage presence that means that no two shows are ever quite the same. Alice offers her audiences an oasis for feelings and contemplation, while singing songs that dip seamlessly between the mundane and the profound. Her vocal tone is both soothing and evocative as it draws out the truth in the room.

This event will feature special guest performer Purdie Wood who will be offering a unique form of traditional wordless prayer and selected re-imagined popular and traditional songs accompanied by the Irish hand drum. She sings on the subjects of death, despair and longing and yet leaves audiences more awake to beauty. Purdie's voice has been shaped by the bellows of her ancestors and their ties to the ancient traditions of keening and lilting stemming from the British Isles. Her vocal liquidity resonates through the heart as it reaches back into the depths of time, and reacquaints us with a much needed connection to the earth and the unseen realms.
