Event description

Within the picturesque setting of the Clare Valley, Felicity Grabkowski presents a series of emotive abstract paintings inspired by her return to South Australia in 2022. Alighting home re-ignited Felicity's wonderment for the landscapes of her home-state; particularly the Clare Valley where she now lives. The opening event will feature local performer, AJ Pike and the exhibition will be opened by Wendy Pfeiffer, President of the Royal South Australian Society of Arts.

Felicity Grabkowski completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours at RMIT School of Art in Melbourne in 2019, building upon her background in environmental management and landscape architecture. Her Honours works centred on the notion of awe and 'the sublime', as relevant to landscape and climate concerns.

Felicity has exhibited her nature-inspired works in Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide since 2010. She has recently completed three public murals in the Mid North featuring her pet sheep, SA blue gum and the iconic grapevines of the region.

Taylors Wines is a great fit for the Nature Festival as the winery is focused on conservation and sustainability (supporting seahorse conservation, given the winery's position on an ancient seabed). The new cellar door in which the exhibition is held is an inviting architectural space in which visitors from far and wide can celebrate the 'terroir' and thus experience the local landscape.

Exhibition Opening - 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Saturday, October 5th

Artist Talk at 5:00pm on Saturday, October 5th
