Dominic Ahuriri-Budgen is passionate about learning, he is currently putting his BSc Hons - Matariki and te Ao Māori to work as a kaiako at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Whānau Tahi. Dom will share his knowledge with us, and how he brings it alive with ākonga.
Tim Budgen is a visual artist (and also Doms Dad - HOW COOL) who started his career remixing VHS tales at Chch Warehouse raves in the mid 90's. He can usually be found on the road as a tour vj making visuals for the likes of Shapeshifter. Tim has worked on many digital installations including Matariki. He is passionate about young people realising their dreams in digital story telling, and as a result is now a Lecturer at UC. Tim will share his experiences in the field, as well as potential pathways for our young people in the digital realm. Expect a visual treat as he shares his mahi with us.
Science Alive will share their awesome free Matariki resources.
After we listen to awesome dynamic duo, kaiako will be given time to explore Matariki planning resources. We will then explore digital tools that can be used in the classroom to explore Matariki with our young people.
