Learn to Grow, Pick and Arrange with CHS Members
Led by Debz Eagle, Isabelle Weston & Yvette Edwards
All About Flowers is a relaxed, welcoming group for anyone who loves flowers — from growing and picking to styling and arranging. Meeting on the last Thursday of each month, sessions are a celebration of all things floral, with practical guidance shared by CHS members and invited florists.
Each month explores a different topic, offering fresh inspiration and hands-on learning. Some sessions may meet outside the Kiosk, depending on the focus for the day.
When: Last Thursday of the month, 10.30am–12.30pm
Where: The Kiosk, Christchurch Botanic Gardens(unless otherwise stated)
Cost: FREE CHS Members & Friends of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, $15 Non-Members. A modest material cost may be required on the day of approximately $15pp
Bookings: Recommended - booking in advance lets our tutors know how much floral material is required
Who can attend: CHS members and non-members welcome.
Whether you’re keen to build your confidence or simply enjoy flowers in good company, All About Flowers is a lovely way to learn, share, and be inspired.

Programme
Thursday 24 September 10.30am - 12.30pm at The Kiosk
In our August Meeting we are going to make we will enjoy making a Spring flower bowl to celebrate all the delicate blooms. We will start by talking through some helpful hints on getting the most out of this seasons cut flowers and share growing tips, before a short demonstration.
What to expect: A hands on making session with Spring flowers. - Chicken wire and pot tape will be provided, $5 koha person.
What to bring: A cereal or noodle style bowl. Ideally deep rather than shallow.
A selection of Spring flowers cut the day before and given a good drink of water over night, blossom branches, delicate/feathery foliage all approx 30cm long/some can be shorter.
Plus anything that you might like to use or share with others.
A pair of garden scissors or secateurs.
A sweet or savory morning tea plate to share.
