Programme
Thursday 29 October 10.30am - 12.30pm at The Kiosk
In our October Meeting we are hosting guest speaker Katie Hopkins from Bloom and Grow with Katie.
Join us for an inspiring, heartfelt story about following your passion, finding healing in nature, and discovering the joy flowers can bring.
In August 2022, after battling Long Covid and feeling the strain of running a Virtual Admin business, Katie Hopkins took a leap of faith and followed her heart into the garden. She founded Bloom and Grow with Katie, a garden maintenance business born from her need to slow down, reconnect with nature, and create a more meaningful life.
Working with the seasons brings Katie a unique perspective on the garden year. From nurturing her cut-flower seedlings in spring to rising at first light in summer to pick and condition flowers for beautiful bouquets, Katie’s days are filled with the simple magic of growing.
Come along and hear Katie’s story of courage, change, flowers and finding her way back to wellbeing — one garden at a time.
After morning tea we will be doing a dahlia swap! Bring your spare tubers to share with the group! If you’re unsure of the name or type of dahlia simply describe the colour/shape etc. or write “mystery tuber” on it’s container.
What to expect: An inspiring talk about Katie’s healing journey through gardening.
$5 koha per person.
What to bring: Dahlia tubers, plants, seeds etc. to swap on our swap table.
A sweet or savoury morning tea plate to share.
Thanks! From Isabelle, Debz and Yvette
