All About Sourdough - One Day June
Event description
An 8.5hr day of sourdough that is designed to teach all the essential skills of sourdough plus more with a very hands on approach. The day starts with you receiving your own starter (some of our 12 year old one), and includes a thorough explanation of the starter, how to feed it, manage it and how keep it alive even when you're away.  You will learn about building a leaven, followed by how to build a dough, collectively producing a series of dough recipes to gain practice and prepare for your sourdough lunch. Each attendee will also make their own loaf of bread to take home.Â
The recipes for the day will include an everyday delicious sourdough loaf, crumpets, bread rolls, crackers, pizza dough and doughnuts (worth attending for these alone).  This class is seriously jam packed with value.Â
You can also add on an equipment pack which includes a Loyal brand banneton proofing basket (shape of your choice), plastic scraper, metal Loyal dough shaper and lame - all for $50. If you prefer, these items can be purchased separately on the day at their RRP.Â
Classes are taught in our workshop space overlooking our orchard on our 100 acre regenerative farm. Included in the day is all food, tea and coffee and a tour of our organically managed garden.Â
