Event description

Guest speakers at Sydney Rotary Club's Luncheon on Tuesday 30th March will be the co-founders of Parliamentarian Friends of Rotary, Dr Hugh McDermott MP and Mr Lee Evans MP.

They will discuss "Service Above Self: The 4 Way Test in Politics."

Prior to his election to Parliament in the State seat of Prospect, Hugh McDermott worked as a Barrister and Director of Financial Crime Programs at the Australian Graduate School of Policing & Security, Charles Sturt University.

His community involvement includes holding the positions of President of the Rotary Club of Wetherill Park, Trustee of the Smithfield RSL Sub-Branch (Hugh served 7 years with the Army Reserve), and as Brigade President and volunteer firefighter with the Rural Fire Service, Horsley Park.

Lee Evans was elected to NSW Parliament as Member for Heathcote in 2011 and was re-elected in 2015 for a second term. His appointment as Temporary Speaker has continued and it is a role he performs with great pride and responsibility.

Lee has been an active member of many local community groups. As a qualified chef he held the role of Food Supply and Purchasing Manager for the Olympic Village in 2000, was employed by TAFE NSW as a Hospitality and Tourism Teacher and subsequently owned and operated a wholesale gourmet food business.

This will be a hybrid meeting.

You are invited to support Rotary's Centennial Project - Give Every Child a Future.
