Bios:

Dr Vincent Cornelisse

Vincent is Senior Lecturer in the Sexual Health Program at Kirby Institute. His research interests are in the fields of sexual health, HIV and viral hepatitis, including the epidemiology and prevention of sexually transmissible infections (STIs), and the relationship between HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and STIs/hepatitis.

Vincent is a staff specialist in sexual health medicine, and manager of the medical unit at Kirketon Road Centre, Kings Cross, Sydney, a NSW Health primary healthcare facility that provides services to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS, sexually transmissible infections and viral hepatitis among "at risk" young people, people engaged in sex work and people who inject drugs. The service also reaches out to members of Aboriginal, homeless and LGBTI communities.

Professor Rachel Skinner

Professor Rachel Skinner is a teaching and research clinical academic in the Discipline of Child and Adolescent Health, Sydney University, and Adolescent Physician at the Children’s Hospital Westmead.

She is Deputy Director of Wellbeing, Health and Youth, NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Adolescent Health: a collaboration across 5 Universities, based at Sydney University. She is also Senior Clinical Advisor in Youth Health and Wellbeing at NSW Ministry of Health.

Professor Skinner's research addresses a broad range of public health, bio-psychosocial, behavioural and ethical aspects of adolescent health. She is known internationally for her work on human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine efficacy, effectiveness and school vaccination programs; and for work on sexual behaviour, contraception and early pregnancy in adolescents.

Alex Robinson

Alex Robinson is a registered sexual and reproductive health nurse. They work at Family Planning NSW and the Check OUT clinic as a nurse manager. They’ve been published in the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Journal, writing about LGBTIQ experiences of sexual health and was involved in updates on sexually transmitted infections and transgender specific issues in Reproductive and Sexual Health: An Australian Clinical Practice Handbook.

Alex co-hosts Let’s Do It, a practical podcast about sex education that aims to provide the kind of information they wish they’d had as a queer teenager.
