Ally Upstander Training
Event description
Equality Tasmania warmly invites you to join our Ally Upstander Training sessions.
We all know that the LGBTIQA+ community, particularly trans and gender diverse people, experience disproportionate amounts of unfair treatment, hate and violence. It’s up to us, as members of the community and allies, to stand up for and protect each other. That’s why Equality Tasmania is running training – to empower communities with the knowledge and skills to protect ourselves.
Please join us in Huonville, Launceston or Burnie to learn and share about the barriers that LGBTIQA+ people face in our communities, how we can listen to and support each other, and what we can do if we witness an incident of hate crime.
Lunch will be provided. All are welcome, whether you’re a long-time advocate or new ally. We only ask that you come open-minded and respectful. We will create a safe space for asking questions, but we will not tolerate any disrespect.
