Event description
WHO - Music lovers, if you are booking children in the recommended age is 8 years+ (primary school students MUST attend with parent)
Community Latin Music Workshops! ARIA-nominated ALLY draws inspiration from Afro-Peruvian, Cuban, and Afro-Brazilian traditional rhythms with sensational Cuban dancer Cruz Vazquez Borges on June 21st at Gunnedah Con. They have a passion for sharing what they know of South American and Caribbean music styles, and in presenting the rhythms and instrumental roles in a friendly, accessible and fun way to encourage all participants to join in and have fun learning something new.
Through a mix of traditional and modern instrumentation, and rhythmic patterns you'll play through a few simple popular Latin music styles that allows everyone to bang on a drum. Once you're getting familiar with the patterns, the music builds from there!
Bring your own percussion instruments - or use your body percussion, everything is possible! Some instruments will be provided. Everyone can participate in the concert finale accompanying Latin dance too.
