Just a short stroll away, Alnwick is a historic market town with independent shops, cafés, restaurants and galleries. Overlooking the town is impressive Alnwick Castle, one of England’s largest inhabited castles and a famous filming location for Harry Potter. The town is also home to Barter Books, one of the UK's largest second-hand bookshops, housed in a beautifully restored Victorian railway station dating from 1887.
