ALSA Intellectual Property Moot

As part of the Australian Law Students’ Association Online Competitions Program, the ALSA Intellectual Property Moot will run from 25–28 July 2026. The competition provides students with the opportunity to engage with complex and contemporary issues in intellectual property law, including copyright, trade marks, patents, confidential information, and emerging technologies.

Competitors will present written and oral submissions in a simulated appellate advocacy setting before a panel of judges, testing their legal research, written advocacy, and oral argument skills. The competition is designed to challenge participants to analyse sophisticated legal problems while developing practical advocacy experience in a rapidly evolving area of law.

Open to law students from across Australia & New Zealand, the ALSA Intellectual Property Moot offers a unique opportunity to compete nationally while exploring one of the most dynamic fields of modern legal practice. As part of the Australian Law Students’ Association Online Competitions Program, the ALSA Intellectual Property Moot will run from 25–28 July 2026. There is no cap on the number of teams per university, and participants are welcome to form teams with students from any law school, inter-university teams are strongly encouraged.

Tickets: The registration fee is $49.50 per competitor (GST inc.). Please purchase one ticket per competitor. Tickets may be purchased together as a team or individually. If purchasing individually, please ensure you enter the same team name so we can correctly identify your teammate.
