This session will discuss how the pathway to registration is evolving, with discussions underway around an alternate approach that better reflects the changing needs, skills and technologies of the surveying profession. In this webinar, Greg Ledwidge will explore the proposed Alternate Pathway to Registration, including the competencies, training and assessment model being considered and how it could support future Registered Surveyors. Greg will also discuss the potential benefits of a more structured, nationally focused pathway, including improved mobility between jurisdictions, while maintaining consistent professional standards.

Our Speaker

Greg was appointed ACT Surveyor-General in February 2022. He is a member of the NSW Board of Surveying and Spatial Information (BOSSI), the Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping (ICSM), and the Council of Reciprocating Surveyors Boards of Australia and New Zealand (CRSBANZ). He is the Chair of the ACT Survey Practice Advisory Committee and is the Co-Chair of the ACT Place Names Committee.

Greg worked in the private sector for 17 years before he joined the ACT Office of the Surveyor-General and Land Information in 2004, and has been a Registered Land Surveyor in NSW and the ACT since 2007.

Greg has a passion for student engagement in geospatial and addressing surveyor workface capacity issues.
