Description

Why is cycling such a powerful lens to change the ways we think of our streets, cities and societies?

In this exclusive Ask Me Anything chat of the Lab of Thought, Professor Meredith Glaser will join Marco te Brömmelstroet to talk bikes. Not as aficionado of the vehicle itself, but because cycling is so intertwined with processes and phenomena in our social and spatial systems.

As CEO of the Urban Cycling Institute and Professor of Cycling at Ghent University, she is the leading academic thinker in the field of Cycling Policy Transfer. Her research projects have broad her to study how being underway can contribute to sense of community, why embodied experience is the best way for policy makers to learn about Dutch cycling and what is wrong with the current policy focus on fatbikes.

This is not a standard webinar. It is an intimate, thought-provoking conversation designed for people who want to go deeper with the Lab of Thought. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance and join a live Q&A during the session. You will be asked to submit your questions to Meredith Glaser during purchasing your ticket.

The event is the second in a new series of engaged Lab of Thought online community: a premium space for curious practitioners, researchers, advocates, and urban thinkers to connect around the ideas, tensions, and possibilities shaping the future of mobility. The first Ask Me Anything was with Ian Walker on motonormativity.
