Student reflections -February 2023

" My first yoga experience with Amani Yoga as a Black woman was unforgettable. Maria creates a secure and supportive environment that allows me to connect with my body, spirit, and mind. A sacred space to decrease racial stress, practice self-care, and foster a sense of community and sisterhood. I am incredibly grateful to Maria Osman for providing this opportunity to Sisters Healing Space, and I eagerly anticipate future sessions"

AMANI Yoga came out of a desire to create an culturally inclusive yoga space for BI+WOC to feel safe and have a sense of belonging and experience how yoga can contribute to healing and well-being.

This offering includes

  • A restorative yoga practice- providing deep rest, a practice which you can take away and practice daily (all postures are accessible to all bodies and all levels of experience, especially beginners)
  • An exploration of how racial stress impacts our body’s nervous system and how yoga can relax the nervous system in a safe nurturing setting
  • Yoga Nidra for rest, clarity and direction
  • Takeaway self care tools
