Event description

Interested in contributing to marine debris reduction in a meaningful way? Join our AMDI Monitoring training to learn more about our monitoring methodology and how you can contribute to our national monitoring project.

About Tangaroa Blue Foundation

Tangaroa Blue Foundation works to prevent and remove marine debris in Australia and across regions. We use the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) framework to inspire behaviour change and innovation and empower communities, industry, and government to make data-driven decisions that improve ocean health.

About the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) Database

The Australian Marine Debris Initiative® (AMDI) and its Database of over 25 million debris items provide vital marine debris information, providing the knowledge we need to know how and where to concentrate our removal and prevention efforts. The AMDI Database is the largest Database on marine debris in the Southern Hemisphere, and it's enabled by the contributions of more than 3100 organisations and 4490 citizen scientists.

Using the AMDI app

Planning a clean-up? Whether you clean-up your local beach, creek or riverbank, you can submit data to AMDI anytime and anywhere via the AMDI App (available on Apple App Store and Google Play). Step-by-step instructions make it easy to record what you've found. The data you contribute will help us better understand marine debris patterns and evidence plans to reduce pollution at its source.
