Seeds of sustainability

Where grevilleas grow and basil blooms, Amelie Ecology brings you “Seeds of Sustaina-BEE-lity"!

Let us sing beneath the soil, waggle dance amongst the wattle and grow the change we want to see-d.  This Tuesday afternoon join Amelie and her posse of pollinator pals at Source for a free concert to learn, and celebrate our littlest garden neighbours!

Cross-pollinating experience as a pollinator ecologist with musical theater, Dr Amelie Ecology brings life to the life sciences with this participatory musical that celebrates YOU, the sewers, the growers, the pollinators.

Let’s sew the SEEDS of Sustaina-BEE-lity!

About Amelie:

Dr Amelie Vanderstock is an ecologist, musician and educator. With PhD in native bee ecology, Amelie researches the role of community gardens and urban green-spaces for promoting pollinating insect biodiversity. She also designs educational programs that connect youth with local ecology, inviting them to be citizen scientists. She has translated her urban ecology research into a musical theater piece and has performed in schools and festivals across Australia, Europe and Japan as Amelie Ecology. Joined by multi-instrumentalists Gabi Brown and Candela Tennent Serra, the bee band bring life to the life sciences with guitar, percussion, clarinet, saxophone and vocals. They will release their debut studio album and educational resource kit ‘Let’s BEE Scientists’ in 2025.
