    Event description

Did you know that Australian human rights are not clearly defined in our laws or founding documents?

Because of this, many Australians are calling for the government to implement a Federal Human Rights Act. A Federal Human Rights Act would define general protections in law against violations of human rights and create an effective legal framework for everyone in Australia.

In this Town Hall, we will be joined by Emeritus Professor Rosalind Croucher AM, the President of the Australian Human Rights Commission, to discuss what actions are required by our government and all Australians to strengthen and protect human rights for everyone both in Australia and globally.

Join us on Tuesday the 18th of June at the Copland Theatre of the Australian National University to hear about the potential a Human Rights Act has for Australia. Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7pm start.
