Understanding the New CPS Elementary Literacy Curriculum - Amplify CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts)

Join CSV for a workshop to learn more about Amplify CKLA, Cambridge Public Schools’ new elementary literacy curriculum. Ana Younis, Biliteracy Coach at the Amigos School in Cambridge, will explain why Cambridge chose a new curriculum, the theory behind the curriculum, and how the curriculum aligns with the middle and high school literacy curriculums. Ms. Younis will also share resources you can access to help you better support students.Â
This workshop is open to all volunteers (preschool-12)Â but will be most relevant to elementary and middle school volunteers.
When: Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Where: Teachers’ Resource Center (TRC), Room 3501, Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS), 459 Broadway
Transportation and Parking: CRLS is accessible by both bus and subway. There is limited metered parking on Broadway, Felton St., and Cambridge St. and resident parking on the surrounding streets.Â
Directions to the TRC:Â Enter CRLS through the main entrance (on the side of the building facing the Cambridge Public Library) and check in with the desk attendant who will direct you to the TRC.
