AMPLIFYING OUR SCD VOICES

TEN +2 PART SERIES ON RELEVANT MATTERS WITHIN THE SCD COMMUNITY

Things To Know About This Initiative:

1. For the #FirstTime ever, the Australian Sickle Cell Advocacy brings you a live global discussion on relevant matters within the sickle cell community from sickle cell #warriors, health professionals to #caregivers and all other stakeholders.

2. It starts on the 29th of August and every fortnight (every two weeks) thereafter as people in the sickle cell community from different countries tell their truth and shine a light on sickle cell disorder while promoting practical solutions for enhancing the lives and livelihoods of warriors.

3. This series will be delivered by an expert panel of 40 experts, representing 18 countries worldwide. We also have an expert panel from the French speaking background ( flyer coming soon)

4. Expert categories include, sickle cell community leaders, sickle cell warriors, researchers, health professional and advocates. The main goal of this series is to push forward awareness on sickle cell from all parts of the world.

5. Sickle cell is the most common genetic disorder worldwide, yet sickle cell patients are often neglected and associated issues are mishandled, thereby suppressing rather than strengthening patients.

6. We believe strengthening sickle cell patients/warriors is the smart thing to do.

7.United we would like to fight stigma around Sickle Cell Disease and people living with it.

8. To educate people on the importance of conducting pre marital tests as a step to curb SCD and for better health efforts in reducing loss of life among SCD expectant mums and babies.

9. By the end of this series, our audience will be able to see themselves within the various solutions suggested and be able to act immediately on the task they select to achieve.

10. Although this series is being offered at no charge, the information that will be shared is of great value. Please be inspired to make a contribution to the Australian Sickle Cell Advocacy organisation by using this link: https://aussicklecelladvocacy....
