Event description
Maxine and Paul Blackaby’s ‘LOSCOMBE’ (built before 1864) will resound to a fine hour of music, a light lunch and marvellous company for this fundraising event for a marble statue of the ‘Tasmanian Nightingale’, Amy Sherwin, who took the world by storm in 1878.
Hear fabulous music from Amy’s repertoire with a string quartet and stunning young soprano. Catch up with the exciting news about the statue which will be sculpted from Italian marble by Melbourne master sculptor Peter Schipperheyn and put on prominent public display in Hobart’s CBD later in 2025.
Hear the latest on when, where and why from the Amy Sherwin Fund.
