Event description

Join +61J for an evening exploring the legendary life and music of the late Jewish superstar Amy Winehouse. Alexis will share with us the songs and stories of Amy’s too-short life and also share the story behind how she met and performed with Amy’s father, Mitch.

Alexis Fishman is a Moriah College and Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts graduate and Helpmann Award nominee for her performance as Young Dusty in the hit Australian musical Dusty. Since 2008, she has made New York her second home, with a string of awards for her shows at all the major Manhattan cabaret venues. She’s performed her self-devised tour-de-force Club Gelbe Stern in Sydney’s Seymour Centre, Adelaide and Melbourne cabaret festivals  Shir Madness and at the New York Musical Theatre Festival where she won the coveted ‘Outstanding Individual Performance’ award. Alexis is also a passionate advocate for Holocaust education and remembrance and was honoured to sing for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
