An Evening of Palestinian Literature

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Join us on Thursday 9th May (6-8pm), in the Haringey Warehouse District, for an evening celebrating Palestinian literature! Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

The evening will feature discussions of 3 different texts written by 3 different Palestinian authors.

Minor Detail- Adania Shibli

A River Dies of Thirst- Mahmoud Darwish

Returning to Haifa- Ghassan Kanafani

Please do not feel pressured to read all three! Feel free to choose one text you'd like to read (they're all fairly short), and we will discuss them all throughout the evening. More information, and a short synopsis of all the featured books, can be found on our instagram @oliverootscollective. For anyone who may have difficulty accessing any of these texts, for financial reasons or otherwise, please pop us a message on instagram! We have spare copies of all texts- just let us know what you need, and we will try our best to help you out.

This event is being run on a Pay What You Can basis- we recommend a donation of £5-10, but if you can't afford this, and would still like to join us, please do. Some pay, some don't, all welcome. All money raised from this event will be donated to an Evacuation effort for a Palestinian family- more information on this can also be found on our instagram.

Big love, Olive Roots Collective
