About Our Speaker
Alison Shamir is Australia's Foremost Expert on Imposter Syndrome, an International Speaker, Best Selling Author, Facilitator, Certified Coach and former Technology Leader turned Business Owner.
Alison stands at the forefront of tackling one of the most pervasive challenges in today's professional (and personal) world - Imposter Syndrome which is estimated to impact 70% of individuals in their lifetime. And her powerful voice has been received around the world with Alison having spoken to thousands of individuals across 6 continents and 23 countries to date. But it wasn't always this way. In 2013, a major bout of Imposter Syndrome unexpectedly altered the course of her life, propelling her on a journey of self-discovery, self-healing and transformation. From that pivotal moment, Alison emerged as the renowned expert she is today, dedicated to helping individuals and organisations overcome the crippling effects of Imposter Syndrome and unlock their true potential.
Alison is not only a global authority on Imposter Syndrome but also an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, identifying as a Lesbian with she/her pronouns, she wholeheartedly understands the barriers and biases that marginalised individuals face, be it based on gender, sexuality, ethnicity, race, religion, disability, or other factors. Recognizing that a sense of belonging is a fundamental right for every individual, Alison is fiercely passionate about empowering organizations to create diverse, equitable, and inclusive spaces where women & gender diverse individuals can shine, receive fair compensation, and thrive in their professional pursuits.
She firmly believes that gender-diverse leadership and teams is key to enhancing organizational performance across various metrics, including profitability, and understands the vital links between Imposter Syndrome and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I).
Committed to making a difference, Alison collaborates with leaders to design workplace training(s) and practices that minimize Imposter Syndrome, fostering a culture of authentic high performance and confidence, which results in growth for all. Alison is also a sought after media contributor and podcast guest whose contributions have been featured across the media landscape (print, digital and TV). Her first book on Imposter Syndrome - Conquer Your Imposter™ due out in April 2025. And as a victim/survivor of childhood and adolescent domestic and family violence, Alison has partnered with Women’s Community Shelters, whereby a percentage of every book sale will be donated to this incredible organisation. She is committed to using her vast business & multicultural experiences to inspire individuals to embrace their authentic strengths, control their inner narrative and know they belong at any table, in any room or on any 'stage' they find themselves.
