Event description

Join us for an evening of conversation and questions with Permaculture elders David Holmgren & Su Dennett.

This event is your opportunity to ask what you always wanted to know from the co-founder of Permaculture, David, and to quiz Su on homesteading skills and building community-based food systems.

We will discuss:

  • Practical ways to apply these principles to your own life, whether you have a small balcony or a sprawling property.

  • Explore the transformative potential of permaculture in building a more resilient, equitable, and regenerative world for all.

  • The Canberra region and all the amazing projects being achieved.

This is an essential discussion for anyone interested in environmental sustainability, conscious living, and creating positive change in their community

Who are David & Su?

David Holmgren is best known as the co-originator of permaculture. In 1978, he and Bill Mollison published Permaculture One, starting the global permaculture movement.David Holmgren is a globally recognised pioneer.

Since then, David has developed three properties, consulted and supervised on urban and rural projects, written eight more books, and presented lectures, workshops and courses in Australia and around the world. His writings over those three decades span a diversity of subjects and issues, whilst always illuminating aspects of permaculture thinking and living.

Su Dennett is David’s partner in life and livelihood, sharing their home base Melliodora and businesses Holmgren Design and Melliodora Publishing. As well as the businesses, Su focuses her prodigious energy and passion in the kitchen and community.

Su is passionate about food and provides fantastic meals for the larger crew who live, volunteer and work on the property as well as visitors on tours and courses. She also purchases and distributes bulk food, supporting regional producers.  Recently Su started an online series about Homesteading skills & household resilience -  Do With Su
