Event description

Join us at the Celebration Hall at the Center at Maple Grove Cemetery for a night of Victorian ghost stories and 19th century spiritualism with acclaimed horror author Grady Hendrix!

Grady's titles will be available for purchase on-site and there will be a reception to meet him and get your books signed following the event. Limit two items to be signed, including anything brought from home.

This event is presented in partnership with The Friends at Maple Grove Cemetery, whose events are made possible with the support of MEMBERS and PATRONS of the Friends of Maple Grove Cemetery, The Maple Grove Cemetery Association, The Office of Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. and Councilwoman Lynn Schulman.

The Center at Maple Grove Cemetery is an accessible building with an elevator and free parking on-site.

About the Venue

Maple Grove Cemetery is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2025, honoring a legacy of service, remembrance, and community since 1875. For the past 20 years, the Friends of Maple Grove Cemetery, a nonprofit organization, has proudly carried forward this tradition. Their mission is to honor, memorialize, and celebrate the lives of the more than 100,000 individuals buried at Maple Grove through educational programs, cultural events, and preservation efforts. Together, the cemetery and the Friends serve as stewards of history, keeping memory alive for generations to come.


Mass Transit / Walking Directions

Take E or F Train to the Kew Gardens/Union Turnpike Station.

(Sit in the front car of the train). Walk upstairs and look for Kew Gardens Road and walk three blocks to Lefferts Blvd. where the Victorian Administration Building is located.

To reach the Center at Maple Grove, continue along Kew Gardens Rd until you find The Center at 129th St.
