Breathwork may seem like a modern wellness trend, but it’s deeply ancient — practiced in India, China, and Japan for centuries. Samurai instructors once placed feathers beneath their students' noses to train quiet, controlled breathing.
Since then, 3 things have changed:
- There aren’t any samurai left.
- Our scientific understanding of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitric oxide has exploded.
- Life has become fast, fast, fast.
Breathwork helps slow that pace — activating your body’s natural systems for healing, clarity, and calm. These practices have changed the way I live — and they can for you too.
Limited to 18 participants.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Breathwork? Breathwork is a guided practice that uses intentional breathing to shift your physical, emotional, and mental state. In this session, we use Conscious Connected Breathing—a simple technique that calms the nervous system, activates the vagus nerve, and can lead to emotional release and deep clarity. It’s a powerful reset using nothing but your breath.
2. Are there any medical conditions that might make breathwork unsuitable for me? Yes. Breathwork can create strong physical and emotional responses. If you have cardiovascular issues, epilepsy, recent surgeries, glaucoma, mental health conditions (e.g., psychosis, bipolar), or if you’re pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding, please consult your doctor before attending. If in any doubt, please email or text me, or speak to your doctor.
3. What should I wear and what should I bring? Please bring a yoga mat, journal and pen, light blanket (I have some if you forget), a small cushion or pillow for support, water bottle, and wear loose, comfortable clothing. Eye masks and earplugs are provided.
4. Should I eat beforehand? Breathwork is best experienced on an empty stomach. We recommend a light snack no less than an hour before the session. Avoid heavy meals to help you breathe and relax more easily.
5. How will it feel afterwards? You may feel energised, emotional, deeply relaxed, or even a bit spaced out. Drink water, move gently, and give yourself time to integrate. Most people feel clearer, lighter, and more grounded.
6. Is this suitable for first-timers? Absolutely. The session is guided from start to finish. You don’t need any experience—just an open mind and a willingness to breathe.
7. What if I feel overwhelmed or emotional? That’s okay. Breathwork often brings up stored emotions. You’ll be guided safely, and there’s no pressure to "do it right." You’re in control at all times, and support is available throughout.
