Event description

Williams and Sally Wiggins and David Flower team up for a run of Queensland shows bringing their unique and powerful songwriting in an intimate concert guaranteed to delight the senses. the Yeppoon show will be held in the magical space of the Queen Street Hall and the delightful local Kate Mahood will join the line up with her beautiful heartfelt country-esk songs to open the night

Karl S. Williams… A genre defying, multi-instrumentalist and award-winning artist with a voice and conviction so powerful it takes your breath away. Karl's music is timeless and deeply rooted in tradition yet ever conversant with the present. Drawing from folk, blues and gospel his songs are steeped in the swamp water of the northern NSW cane country where he was raised, lending the distinct flavour of this land to all his work.

Distilling life, love and the human condition, his music calls with urgency and sings without apology. His solution and vocation: to love more. A Karl S. Williams performance - either solo or with his band - is frequently referred to as a spiritual experience, leaving an audience slightly altered in the best way possible.

David Flower's live shows are uplifting and brimming with atmosphere playing progressive roots, boogie blues, funk and reggae, making for an acoustically groovy show rich in rhythm and soul. The energy is contagious!

Flower thrives on live performances which has taken him throughout Australia, Europe and South east Asia. Back home his Australian festival appearances include Townsville Folk, Woodford Folk, Caloundra Music, Airlie Beach Festival of Music, The Village, Wintermoon, Flametree, The Gas, Agnes waters blues and roots, Palm Creek, Cygnet, River heads rocks, BMUP, Tablelands, Wolvi stomp, Wallaby creek and Big Pineapple

His songs have been featured on the award winning sound track of cult film ‘Bloody Hell’ and he was the official voice of the sunshine coast with his hit song ‘Ride my wave’ chosen to be the theme song for the Sunshine Coasts tourism campaign 2012-14.

David’s intimate concerts are full of musicality, stories, off the cuff humour and surprises but most of all exquisite songwriting with a dynamic vocal range and a individual guitar style from acoustic grooves to intricate finger picking and catchy harmonica melodies.
