This is an introductory workshop providing foundational knowledge level understanding of Women’s Health and Wellbeing work.

The workshop provides participants with foundational level understanding Women's Health and Wellbeing work. This knowledge will be helpful for anyone interested in entering the Women's Health and Wellbeing sector, new to Women's Health and Wellbeing work or those who interact with Women's Health and Wellbeing victims/ survivors in their everyday work.

This pilot program has been developed with insights from the women’s health and wellbeing, sexual violence, and domestic and family violence sector in Queensland.  We invite you to join us to increase your understanding and knowledge and help us test and refine the program before finalisation in 2025.

Workshop and resource materials will cover:

  • Myths about Women’s Health and Wellbeing
  • Building blocks for Women’s Health and Wellbeing workers starting in the sector
  • Essential legal information/contact organisations
  • Understanding how Women's Health and Wellbeing work intersects with DFV and Sexual Violence services
  • Self-Care for Practitioners
  • Trauma-Informed Practice and Recovery Work
  • Intersectional Considerations

We invite you to have a say and help us to shape this program to ensure it meets the sectors’ needs.

Location: Online

Please note: This is a 3 part series. Participants are required to attend all three dates.

This session is for workers in specialist domestic and family violence, sexual violence and women's health and wellbeing services.
