An Introduction to Permaculture - Transition Town Kensington, Inc

An introduction to Permaculture is a series of 10 in person classes, 2 hours in length, introducing the themes behind Permaculture.
The classes aim to provide some guidelines on how to work with the land in an urban context and hopefully inspires attendees to explore Permaculture further as a design tool and method which functions to benefit life in all its forms. It is not a PDC.
The first five classes will be held monthly in Kensington, Victoria starting from Saturday 23rd May until Saturday 24th October 2026. The five classes will cover the following themes: Each class can stand alone, however we encourage you to attend the series for a fuller understanding.
Class One: Introduction - The Philosophy behind Permaculture, Ethics, Permaculture in Landscape and society, David Holmgren's 12 Principles of Permaculture
Class Two; Design - Concepts and Themes in Design, Methods of Design
Class Three to Six: Earth Systems ( 4 parts) - Pattern Understanding, Climatic Factors, Trees and their energy transactions, Soils
