Michaela Kennedy facilitates workshops:

Michaela has worked at many levels within organisations, leading the cultural change. At Inclusion Tree as the Managing Director ensuring Person Centredness and Inclusion are the foundational principles that underpin the organisation’s culture and practices. 

Michaela is a skilled practitioner and trainer of Person Centred Thinking and Planning including Maps, Paths and Lifestyle Planning, Person Centred Active Support, Supported Decision Making, Community Connecting, Person Centred Coaching and Mentoring, Team Building and Strategic Planning, Participatory Leadership and Self-Management Practices.

She has worked in the disability sector in Australia for over 30 years; has presented at various State, National and International Conferences, facilitated training for organisations and groups of families. She is passionate about people and families having choice and control in life and for all people to consciously live the journey that makes most sense to them.

Michaela loves walking the dogs on the beach, playing in the garden and cooking nutritious foods for family and friends. She is passionate about natural health remedies, permaculture and being more conscious in daily life.

Values of Inclusion –Developed by Marsha Forest, Jack Pearpoint, John O’Brien and the Scottish Human Services

7 Keys to Citizenship –Developed by Simon Duffy – How the keys to citizenship are used with people to evaluate life and think about focus areas to creating a good life.

Skills Needed to Support and Learn about People – Person Centred Thinking skills and frameworks that help supporters listen and learn about people.

Types of Person Centred Plans – including Maps, Path and Lifestyle Plans

Important to & Important for –Listening to what is truly important to people, understanding the difference between what is important to the person – what they truly care about and what is important for people – what others say is important for people to be healthy, safe and a valued contributing citizen.

Good Day – Bad Day –Learning about what must be in people’s lives and what must change, the things that make up good days and bad days and learning about how to support people in a way that makes sense to them.

Reputations –What is the impact of reputations and being known by your diagnosis? How do we change the perspective to see the positives? What do reputations mean about what is important to us and how we want to be supported?  Positive Rituals & Routines make up our days, months, years, lives – what are they? How do we learn about them? What is important to us and for us within them?

Building a Profile –Using the information learned through the previous exercises to develop personal profiles that are shared with others.

Visioning a good life –Developing a vision statement.

Goal Setting –Goals setting for building good lives and how that links into NDIS goals.
