An introduction to the Developmental Model of Relationship Therapy
Event description
In this online workshop presented by Paula Dennan, participants will explore a systemic approach to couple therapy, gaining insights into effective strategies and models for supporting couples. The session will cover the Developmental Model, key stages of couple development, and the integration of neuroscience, attachment, and differentiation in therapy. Attendees will also learn about the progression of intimacy in long-term relationships and how to foster enduring connections.

- Understanding the five stages of couple development and the three strands of formulation: Neuroscience, Attachment and Differentiation

The workshop will be delivered online via zoom. The zoom meeting details will be sent out a few days before the workshop.

About Paula Dennan (she, her, hers)
Paula is a Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years of experience. She began her career working systemically in child, adolescent and family services with the intricacies of family relationships. She continued her focus on relationships and has worked with individuals, couples, relationship structures in workplace and sporting environments. She has also worked with childhood developmental and sexual trauma. Paula currently works full time in private practice at Auckland Psychology and is a Director of Sex Therapy NZ (STNZ 2010 Ltd). Here she offers training and supervision in sex therapy. Paula has studied a variety of relationship and sex therapy models. She trained with Ellyn Bader and Pete Pearson in 2014, became a mentee in their programme and has remained a part of the Couple Institute team. Paula is passionate about the Developmental model and teaches this here in Aotearoa/NZ.
