General information
Travel instructions
You will find transport details at Transport NSW (https://transportnsw.info), including a trip planner, timelines and route maps. Alternatively, download the TripView app. Catch a train to Redfern train station, and then take a 10-minute walk down Lawson Street and onto Abercrombie Street. Turn onto Codrington Street for access to the main entrance / registration area, or (Day 2 only) continue on Codrington Street, turning left between Abercrombie Building and Codrington Building to directly access the plenary theatre space via the secondary entrance.
Entry instructions
There is an upwards inclined ramp from Codrington St, about 50 m from the corner of Codrington St and Abercrombie St. This ramp leads up to the main entrance of the building. There are automatic doors with an entrance button. Immediately ahead when entering the building will be the large central staircase. There is a secondary entrance through a downwards ramp off Abercrombie St. This leads into the Basement 1 level of the building.
After entry instructions
The main entrance for the auditorium is on Level 2. Team members will be on hand to direct you there.
Accessible parking
Some parking spaces are available in the basement parking lot. These will be allocated based on need / access requirements; please email info@australianprogress.org.au if you require a parking pass. There is some limited street parking around the venue on Abercrombie St. We can’t guarantee that these parks will be available on the day.
Hearing kits (infra-red) and sound amplification.
Infra-red hearing kits are available for use in the auditorium. If you need an infra-red hearing kit, please let us know in advance so that we can request additional if needed. Handheld microphones will be used, with roving microphones to amplify audience questions. We ask all speakers to use a microphone if one is available (even if you have vocal training/speak loudly normally).
Auslan interpretation
Please indicate on your registration if you require Auslan interpretation. Because of the demand for (and shortage of) interpreters, we will do our best to book interpreters.
Service animals
Service and assistance animals are welcome
Companion Card
Companion Card holders qualify for a complimentary ticket for their companion. Please contact us directly at info@australianprogress.org.au to arrange a free ticket.
