Led by international opera singer and certified mindset coach Sharon Kempton, this event will explore the inner world of performance where mental resilience, emotional regulation, and confident communication become just as essential as vocal technique.

Whether you're based in NSW, ACT, or anywhere else in Australia, you'll gain science-informed tools to help yourself and your students thrive under pressure.

Mindset coaching can help performers handle stage fright and performance anxiety through techniques like visualisation, focused breathing, and cognitive restructuring. This enables them to perform at their best even under high pressure.

🧠 Using mindset techniques to reframe self-talk and build confidence

How we can help empower our students by getting them to recognise what happens with their own self-talk and scientifically address how important their thinking is.

🎭 Navigating emotional intensity in high-pressure settings

The ability to manage emotions is crucial in singing, where emotional expression is a key part of performance. Mindset coaching teaches emotional control techniques that help performers manage their feelings on and off the stage.

SHARON KEMPTON

Sharon Kempton is an Australian Opera Singer, singing teacher and professional Mindset Coach. Sharon has enjoyed a successful career performing opera in Germany for the past 22 years (www.sharonkempton.de). During the pandemic Sharon undertook studies in Life Coaching and Neurological Linguistic Programming and Hypnosis. Since that time Sharon has been Coaching Singers in the area of Mindset with fantastic results (www.sharonkempton-coach.com) as well as teaching singers in her private studio in Wiesbaden, Germany

A graduate of the Conservatorium of Music at the University of Melbourne, Sharon completed her undergraduate degree with a Double Major in Music Therapy and Vocal Performance, graduating with honours. In 1997 she returned to the Con to complete her Masters of Music Performance under the Vocal Tutelage of Merlyn Quaife, who was Senior Lecturer and Head of Voice at the time. During a recent visit to Australia, Sharon presented to the students at the Sydney Conservatorium, Melbourne Conservatorium and Music Faculty at Monash University.
