Celebrating the chart-topping ABC Classic albums, Ancient Letters, and Butterflying: the music of Elena Kats-Chernin, ARIA award-winning pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska and one of Australia’s most lauded composers, Elena Kats-Chernin AO, Music in the Regions invite you to a tête-a-tête in this special concert: a “true dream team” performing four hands at the piano.
This concert is a unique chance to witness two of Australia’s foremost musicians performing works from the catalogue of Kats-Chernin’s music, presenting well-loved works in an utterly new light and unveiling new treasures almost as they are being written.
With a wealth of material springing from decades of collaboration – and touring performances in all the major cities and regional centres throughout Australia, from Sydney’s Opera House to Perth International Arts Festival, this is a program that is sure to delight audiences - an irresistible introduction to the energy, beauty and scope of Elena Kats-Chernin’s music.

Music in the Regions (MitR) is an independent touring organisation established in 2022 to connect classical musicians with regional audiences and facilitate transformative musical experiences across New South Wales. These musicians will perform in regions not traditionally visited, reinvigorating regional venues into concert venues, and fostering a vibrant, world-class New South Wales classical music industry.
