Andrea Huelin Portrait Workshop
Event description
Archibald Prize Finalist and Packing Room Prize Winner, Andrea Huelin, will be conducting a portrait workshop in oil paint at Nambour State College. Andrea Huelin is an accomplished portrait artist, with paintings hung in a number of prestigious portrait prizes. She is best known for her colourful and evocative still life paintings. Andrea is interested in colour and form, and capturing elusive qualities of lustre and light with economical brushwork.
Date: Sunday the 27th of April
Time: 8:50 for a 9am start till 3pm

Cost: $80 (QATA members) $160 (Non QATA members)
Lunch, snacks and tea and coffee will be provided for. Please communicate any dietary requirements at ticketing.
Please bring:
1x photo to base portrait on
1x apron
1x Wooden Panel or Oil Paint Pad/ Paper (both gessoed a couple of times)
1x small (approx size 6 bristle Filbert brush)
1x (or 2) size 8 or 10 flat brushes with synthetic bristle (preferred) or bristle or taklon (Size 10 Neef Flat Stiff Synthetic is ideal)
Your own oils paints only if you have a preferred brand (a cool and warm of the primaries, yellow and red ochre, payne's grey and white).
Please note: If you would rather work in acrylics, Andrea is happy to support you do so.
A water bottle
Materials provided by QATA and Nambour State College: medium, odourless solvent, oil paints (to share), a small selection of brushes, table and standing Easels, paper palettes, a selection of acrylic paints
