Andrea Prichett and Friends
Event description
In this latest incarnation, Andrea Prichett reaches beyond the bounds of her more traditional acoustic folk origins with ever greater power and passion. The rich resonance of her voice carries the message of her original lyrics on a solid instrumental foundation provided by Deborah Hungerford on piano and keyboards, Michaelle Goerlitz on drums, and Isaac Coyle on bass. With Mike Derrick on guitar, the genre defying tunes range from blues, folk, rock and even jazz at times. While Andrea's influences include singer-songwriters (Patti Griffin, Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, etc) she also loves to dance and the R&B, Motown sound is also woven into the mix.
Formerly of the Berkeley based, nationally-known feminist folk trio Rebecca Riots, Andrea continues to write and sing about the issues of the day. A natural storyteller, Andrea combines anecdotes and her carefully crafted songs to inspire and uplift her audiences. Her fans describe the experience of going to her shows as part political, part spiritual, part humorous and TOTALLY engaging!
*Green Huse will also provide some backing vocals!
