ABOUT THE EVENT:
The Australian Ark is the first work to chart the complete history of Australian wine, from 1788 to the present day. It is a romantic and magnificent story of challenges and heartbreaks, told in 3 volumes of over 1500 pages. It is a story of young ambitions in an ancient land, the cycles of tragedies and triumphs, and the development of a truly unique and fascinating wine culture.
On Thursday 20th June at The Royal Oak, Balmain, join Andrew Caillard MW in conversation with David Longfield. The event will include an opportunity to taste some of the labels featured in The Australian Ark
Copies of The Australia Ark will be available for purchase at the venue through Roaring Stories, with Andrew Caillard MW signing copies after the discussion.

ABOUT THE VENUE
Attendees are asked to arrive at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Seating is unallocated – another reason to arrive early to secure an optimal spot. Why not make a full evening of it, too, by ordering a meal at the Royal Oak before or after the event? One of Balmain's oldest and most loved pubs, it serves a delicious range of food and beverages.

ABOUT ANDREW CAILLARD MW
Andrew Caillard MW (Master of Wine) is the author of several books, including Penfolds: The Rewards of Patience (six editions), Imagining Coonawarra, A Travel Through Time (the history of leading Spanish winery Marques de Riscal), The Essence of Dreams (the history of the Mornington Peninsula’s wine industry), and co-authored educational books Australian Wine and A Taste Around the World of Wine. He also Co-Founded Langton’s and has been a leader in the wine industry for over twenty years.
Andrew is also editor of The Wine Journal, which draws on Andrew’s periodical publication, The Vintage Journal, containing research, experience and tasting expertise gathered during over 40 years working in the secondary market, the corporate retail world, the wine media, film and painting.

ABOUT THE HOST
David Longfield founded Longueville Media, a Sydney-based publisher celebrating its 24th anniversary this year. Renowned for producing acclaimed and award-winning books, Longueville's portfolio includes academic works, organisational and government histories, and stunning coffee table books. Most recently, David co-published Andrew Caillard MW's The Australian Ark with Angus Hughson of The Vintage Journal.
