If you're heading to the Tamworth Country Music Festival, you already know you're in for great music — but Andrew Clermont’s International "Super" Supper Club offers something uniquely unforgettable - and with easy parking !!

A Tamworth Festival favourite! Hosted nightly by highly awarded multi-instrumental master Andrew Clermont, this ever-evolving Supper Club is your backstage pass to some of the most spontaneous, joyful, and genre-crossing music you’ll hear all week.

More than just a concert, a different musical feast each night, where world-class musicians, and global flavours come together in an atmosphere of intimacy, humour, and pure artistry.

Each night includes a fresh lineup of surprise guests, festival legends, and rising stars — in combinations you won’t see anywhere else. Expect intimate performances, epic jams, hilarious stories, and stunning musicianship across folk, roots, bluegrass, country and beyond.

What makes it special?

  • Curated and hosted by Andrew Clermont nearly 30 years, a musical chameleon known for weaving Bluegrass, New Acoustic, Folk, Blues and Country roots into something truly original

  • A rotating lineup, brought together just for this event

  • A relaxed cabaret-style setting with great food, drinks, and plenty of chances to connect with fellow music lovers let alone the musicians

  • The kind of spontaneous, one-off moments you’ll talk about for years — where stars let loose and the music goes where the moment leads

Whether you’re a seasoned festival goer or here for the first time, the Supper Club is where the magic happens off the main street and into your heart.

Limited tickets. Big memories. For one very special night – or more!

“Don’t change a thing! Just keep the surprises rolling in !”

MAIN PERFORMING ACT(S):

Andrew Clermont’s Supper Club 2025 Jan 16 - 24

will feature anew, Sophie Raymond with heartfelt stories in song from her influences in film making and animation, armed with Harmonicas, sax, guitar and a big look at the world! New favourites are Karl S Williams who gave us from early Country Blues to surprise renditions of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon (Great Gig in the Sky) which is expanding this year to extracts curiously from Deep Purple’s Machine Head !! with orchestral strings and horn section mid week!

And the tallest performer in Australia (!) Tim Woodz at 6’10” ! With a heart & soul & humour to match. From incredible Bass voice to a whole new twist on story telling!

We have had good support & further adventure from regulars Marilla Homes (UK), the very nifty Rob Long (Newcastle) Guitars, Lap Steel & drums!), Golden Fiddle 2024 Awarded Jude Iddison WA, the debonaire Nicholas Reefman from Trumpet to Accordion, keyboard prince Garry Steel, plus return of Shenzo Gregorio (multi-awarded Fiddler GFA 2023 and stunning on Guitar & Chin Cello just by the way!) and Bluegrass Banjo surprise, Paul Henderson with young Marcus Church who never stops pickin' & grinnin'!

And the heart warming theatrical Brookie Gillett from now decades of Sup entwinement is like a sparling wine in the mix!

Steve Gilbert on silken Harmonica first weekend years appearing in Cairns then Northern Rivers and from Tue on, Christian Marsh’s stunning Harmonica world as well; and that’s just some of the icing on the Supper Club cake!

More detail below!

And THE ORCHESTRA/ All-Week Performers !

Meet Shenzo Gregorio (QLD) - 2023 Golden Fiddle "Best Fiddler" Awarded - at home in Rio, Carnegie Hall or a Hot Club in Paris His dance from Gypsy Guitar to Violin to Chin Cello & Bass is quite the jaw drop - let alone a charming soul! Also touring with circus shows through to the Four Play Quartet. Found out recently he's also quite nuts on piano - Lookout!!

Marilla Homes (UK) returning annually, had everyone pin drop focused last January from Stories & Folk songs onward all the way to Opera - on occasion! She bring news of the English shores and has starred as well with her photography within our Supper Club Almanac Book as well !

New Banjo man is Paul Henderson QLD whom Clermont discovered at the National Folk Fest Session Bar and they just kept on keeping on till the wee hours, It's now a coupla years later and we are very happy to bring him to Tamworth. Bluegrass and so much more ! He'll also link with our usual Banjo man (Paul Cooper SA) when he can make it as well!

All the way from WA we love to welcome Fiddler Jude Iddison now PhD of Music, who has been collaborating throughout the last years with Shenzo as Sign of Four (new recording available as well) - we are very keen to hear the results.

Liz Frencham VIC (Double Bass & silken Voice) has a vibrant history across the Folk & Bluegrass realm as well as a deft Jazz flair should the need arise !

Nicholas (Niq) Reefman QLD brings his sublime Trumpet, Accordion, assorted wares & songs to all in a most beloved way. He's had a very high hit rate on our youtubes and is usually the last to let go of the night! Leading us from Brazil to outer space it seems at times we await his new intrigue!

Brookie Gillett NSW (Theatre Star!) - first joining the Supper Club 2007 after many years in the Theatre already! Clermont has treasured her unique voice and dedication to the team with heart searching and topical originals through to an epic Joni Mitchell medley and this time we seek to include her Musical Theatre elements from Les Mis to who knows, culminating on our Cabaret Friday (note 9pm start just that day).

Robbie Long (Newcastle) met Clermont in the group The Lawnmowers (at the "Cutting Hedge" of Bluegrass ! Sorry, had to put that in :-) touring Australia's largest Acoustic Festivals - from WA's Fairbridge to VIC's Pt Fairy & QLD's Woodford Folk Festival PLUS our biggest Bluegrass Fest MountainGrass @ Harrietville VIC at the time. As a Bluegrass Guitar Champion as well as session muso forever in Newcastle including Drums to Lap Steel. Within his years he has toured often with our Double Bassist/ Singer Liz Frencham with wonderful captures on the Supper Club CD Trilogies!

We also featuring the deft & playful hands of Garry Steel NSW (Keyboards & Accordion) - one of the most adventurous musical minds at the Supper Club. He'll only be absent on the Tue, otherwise a grand contributor through this last decade though first jamming with Clermont back in the early 80s with The Hired Hands. Meanwhile many hundreds of albums have passed through his hands since then with a fine handful produced by Clermont as well. He'll duck away on the Thu but in for the rest.

PLUS very Special Guests

The astonishing Goldheist (Hester Fraser) and Anthony Walmsley (Tamworth Jazz Night hosts), are set to rejoin us (when they can !). Clermont has variously toured with Goldheist across many states and loves the inter-reaction with Anthony's guitaring across all kinds of styles. Songwriting like an Australian Kate Bush to Elton John blend through to The Corrs!

Pete Fidler VIC shares his Dobro/ Mandolin/ Slide/ Psychedelic to Bluegrass wizardry when available!

Christian Marsh - arriving after adding to the Thredboe Blues Fest - likely by Tue or Wed, Christian has made the harmonica his life’s work. A never-ending quest for perfection. He has played every idiom, from country and blues to jazz and classical. Seeing him perform opens minds to the versatility of the harmonica. His trademark is a particularly pure and sweet tone, which he weaves through even the simplest of melodies to create lively complexity. He was part of a national tour with the hit stage musical “Big River”. In this show, Christian not only featured and soloed as part of the pit orchestra, but also played several character roles on stage. In 2003, Christian won the award for best “Instrumental” at the 1233 ABC Newcastle Music Awards for his tune entitled “Five Islands”. He was also a nomination for the award in the jazz category in 2003, 2004 and 2005. He has won “Gold Harmonica Awards” on three occasions at Hohner’s National Harmonica Championships in Tamworth!

But preceding him is Steve Gilbert with whom Clermont opens his ABC CD The Longing with “The Crest of Gilbert” which still appears to save Radio National should it jump off air - this is one of the “safety “ tracks which comes on the airwave instead!
