This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Calling all parents and educators of young children aged 3-6 years...

Did you know that improving a child's gross motor skills such as balance, climbing, strength and coordination is an important pre-cursor to those important fine motor skills needed once a child enters school? Children who have well developed gross motor skills are more likely to do well academically and socially and have an enhanced self-concept.

However, it is sad to report that more and more children are struggling with their motor skills - mainly due to our increased sedentary lifestyle and this is having a detrimental effect on not only their school expereince but also on their ability to make friends and feel good about themselves.

Animal Fun can help! This is a program that has been designed by physiotherapists, occupational therapists and psychologists from Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. Animal Fun has been proven to be effective with 3 years of scientific research. Children who had fun with the activities for just 1 Term showed significant improvement in both their social skills and motor skills.

You are invited to participate in this Online Workshop, facilitated by Sue McLaren - Research Coordinator and Director of Animal Fun to learn more about the program and just how simple it is to use.

Help children to become more confident in their motor skills and see them blossom. Improvements in attentiveness and behaviour are wonderful side effects!
