Animalplan webinar​ - How research ideas become projects to strengthen production animal health and biosecurity systems


This webinar will be hosted by the Animalplan Steering Committee and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Presenters will discuss how projects that fit with the objectives of Animalplan are chosen and advanced.

Presentations will be given by:  ​

  • Dr Kylie Hewson, Chair of the Animalplan Steering Committee
    • The Animalplan process and a case study of an Antimicrobial Resistance project
  • Dr Mark Cozens, General Manager Emergency Preparedness, Animal Health and Biosecurity, Animal Health Australia (AHA)
    • The role of AHA including AUSVETPLAN and the Emergency Animal Disease Response Agreement (EADRA)
  • Mrs Tanya Pittard, General Manager Policy and Industry Relations for Australian Pork Ltd, and Dr Rebecca Morrison, General Manager Research and Innovation for Australian Pork Ltd
    • A Rural Research and Development Corporation’s (RDC) process for project prioritisation and investment
  • Dr Annette Dougall, Acting Assistant Director from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
    • The progress of the National Animal Health Diagnostics Business Plan

​Where: Virtual via Microsoft Teams – a calendar invitation with the Microsoft Teams joining details will be provided via Humanitix to all registered participants.
