Event description

DILL PICKLE CLUB presents The Hannibal Lectures

They were the messengers, the rescuers and the pest controllers.

Some were beasts of burden, some were loyal companions. All have played a vital role in conflicts.

From pigeons and canaries to donkeys, camels, dogs and even cats, this is the story of ANIMALS IN WAR.

Join us for the second talk in the series, presented by Terese Binns OAM, with help from Coco the dog.

Terese is a retired library technician and a keen family historian and military researcher. She was recognised with an OAM in the King's Birthday Honours in 2023 for her service to veterans, and to the community.

Her interest in military history came about while investigating her husband Wayne's family history. Wayne is a returned veteran of the Vietnam campaign, and his grandfather fought at Gallipoli.
